The Department of Student Life strives to enhance the Vincentian
Mission of St. John's University by creating a learning environment
that supports the student's academic endeavors and provides
opportunities and experiences for personal and professional
development, including opportunities for leadership and service to
the university and local community.
The Department of Student Life on the Manhattan
Campus provides services and programs that enable and
encourage students to achieve success in their intellectual and
personal development at St. John's University and beyond.
It is the philosophy of the Dean of Students and the Department
of Student Life to promote growth by holding students accountable
for their actions and by assisting them in developing
problem-solving skills. The Dean and other administrators of the
department bestow support by assisting students with whatever needs
they may have, either directly or by personal referral.
