South Orange, NJ -
Head
coach Kim Barnes Arico recorded her 100th program victory as the
St. John’s women’s basketball team won a key BIG EAST game over
Seton Hall, 89-84, on Sunday afternoon at Walsh
Gymnasium.
With the victory, Barnes Arico became the fourth Red Storm women’s
basketball coach to reach 100 wins and the ninth men’s and women’s
basketball coach at St. John’s to accomplish the feat. Through
seven seasons, she has a record of 100-97. Barnes Arico took over
the helm of the Red Storm program on May 7, 2002, and has led it to
unprecedented success, as STJ returned to the NCAA Tournament for
the first time in nearly two decades, made two WNIT appearances and
five trips to the BIG EAST Tournament, while posting two 20-win
seasons.
