Yvette Morgan, Ph.D. Receives Professional of the Year Award at NCCEP Conference!
Congratulations to Yvette Morgan,Ph.D., Director of the GEAR UP Program at St. John’s University, who received the GEAR UP Professional of the Year Award from the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships at the NCCEP/GEAR UP Conference, July 16-19, which was held in San Francisco, CA.
"Yvette Morgan, Ph.D., has served as the principal investigator of the St. John's University GEAR UP/New York GEAR UP Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and New York State Higher Education Services Corporation since September 2001. She has assisted District 30 in New York City by securing over $8 million dollars in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Education and the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation to increase the high school graduation and college enrollment rates of over 5,000 students. A seasoned veteran in higher education, she has vast experience in grant administration, program development, strategic planning, policy analysis, and P-16 initiatives. She most recently authored "A Comprehensive Partnership Approach Increasing High School Graduation and College Enrollment of Urban Economically Disadvantaged Youth" in the academic journal, Education and Urban Society. Dr. Morgan has received both national and state recognition from the U.S. Department of Education for her commitment to serving disadvantaged students and contributions to the GEAR UP Community.
