Build your Career at St. John’s

There are success stories all around us – stories that tell of colleagues who began their St. John’s careers in one job and progressed into positions of increased responsibility and broader impact. Their backgrounds and interests may have been very different, but you can be certain they had this in common: the desire, determination and drive to advance their careers at St. John’s. Read more »

From the Senior Vice President

It is my pleasure to bring you the fall 2014 issue of EmployeeNews, the quarterly human resources newsletter of St. John’s staff and administrators. This issue’s lead story highlights internal career mobility and features the recent career moves achieved by two of our colleagues. Announcements about annual benefits open enrollment, your health and wellness, year-end tax documents, and PFP mid-cycle check in are also covered in this issue, as are new workshops and upcoming EAP programs. Please take a minute to cast your vote in the employee survey and to read the policy highlight.

You have my best wishes for an enjoyable fall season. I hope to see you around campus.

Partnership for Performance (PFP): Prepare for your Mid-Cycle Check-In

The PFP cycle is an annual performance management process that begins June 1 with setting objectives and concludes each year on May 31, when PFP evaluations are to be completed and submitted to the Office of Human Resources.

Between December and January, employees are asked to self-assess before meeting with their supervisors for a less formal, mid-cycle review session. Access comprehensive PFP instructions and more online.

Did you know that you may elect to receive your W-2 Year End Earnings Statement online?

In addition to the convenience of online access, the paperless W-2 Year End Earnings Statement eliminates the University’s need for printing and postage and allows employees to obtain important year-end tax documentation well before January 31, when paper statements are typically mailed. The paperless option also allows you to view your online W-2 and print it at any time. To elect paperless W-2 statements, simply log-on to St. John’s Central, select the UIS tab, and choose “Paperless W-2s” from the Employee/Faculty menu on the right-hand side.

For assistance with this and other payroll needs, please contact Rose Costales at 718-990-1471.
