Alumnae Memorial Scholarship

The Alumnae Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to benefit the immediate relatives of the Alumnae members. The scholarship is funded primarily through the efforts of the Alumnae at their annual fall luncheon. Alumnae are women who have graduated from St. John’s University. They believe that sponsoring this scholarship provides valuable assistance to young men and women to attain an undergraduate degree in higher education.

Provisions and Requirements
Applicant must be a high school senior or transfer student who is the child or grandchild of a St. John’s alumna, and who will be matriculating at St. John’s on a full-time basis.

Applicant
Must be a high school senior or transfer student who is an immediate relative of an alumna (daughter/son, sister/brother, niece/nephew, grandchild) who will be matriculating as a freshman at St. John’s University on a full-time basis.

Basis
Applicant must be accepted at St. John’s University in a four- or five- year degree program study.

Upon Acceptance
Each year of the award, applicant must agree to the terms of the granter explaining what the scholarship means to him or her.

Amount
Up to $5,000 

Length of Time
Four- or five-year period provided that the recipient remains in good academic standing.

Verification
The application must be completed by the student and signed by a sponsoring Alumna in order to verify the relationship to the applicant of the referring Alumna.

Selection
The Alumnae Scholarship Committee evaluates each application. The Office of Financial Aid upon recommendation from the Alumnae Scholarship Committee selects the recipient. Each applicant is required to have the financial aid form on file in the Office of Financial Aid of St. John’s University prior to June 15. This form may be obtained from the high school counselor.
