A panel of alumni with expertise in finances and estate planning
came to the Staten Island campus to share their tips and strategies
with other alumni at our Meet the Experts event. The panelists
offered their free advice on how to prepare for a sound financial
future and how to navigate the rough economic climate.

“This event is a sincere effort from the St. John’s
community to reach out and help inform their graduates about how to
prepare financially for the future,” said panelist John J. Ceparano
’85CBA, CPA, PFS, M.Tax, CFP, Private Wealth Manager at Joseph
Capital Management, LLC. “Graduates should be aware of all their
options to make sure they never back themselves into a corner. They
must make the most of their hard-earned money.”
Prof. John P. Clarke '55CBA, '57L, Chair of the Department of
Law in St. John’s The Peter J. Tobin College of Business and
another of the panelists, found the event especially helpful to
clear up any misinformation.
“There are a lot of misconceptions out there, and so much
complexity with the laws changing all the time,” he noted. “It’s so
important to get sound financial advice from people you can trust
and people who are staying on the top of the subject matter.”
