As you are aware, in 1993 the University established the
Vincentian Mission Award in order to recognize the dedication of
the many St. John's employees – administrators, faculty and staff –
who have embraced the Vincentian spirit which animates our
University in their personal as well as their professional
As I have done so many times in the past, I am writing to invite
all members of the St. John's family to participate in designating
the recipient of the award, which will be presented at the
Vincentian Convocation in September. Criteria for nominations and a
nomination form are available here.
Previous recipients of the award, listed here, are ineligible. In addition, the award
is generally intended to be conferred on individuals other than
members of the Vincentians or Daughters of Charity or individuals
working in offices whose primary goal is to advance the
University's Vincentian mission. Nominations are to be
submitted no later than August 12.
As in the past, final selection of the recipient will be made by
a committee comprised of faculty, staff and administrators, and
chaired by Dr. Dorothy E. Habben, Vice
President and Secretary of the University.
Thank you for your participation in this important activity
which is designed to underscore our institutional commitment to
serve those in need.
Rev. Donald J. Harrington, C.M.
