St. John’s Celebrates Black History Month

February 07, 2013

In celebration of Black History Month, St. John’s University invites you to attend an array of educational and interactive events that will highlight multicultural organizations on the Queens and Staten Island campuses. This year’s theme, “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington,” honors the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

To kick off the month-long festivities, join us at Marillac Terrace on the Queens, NY, campus for the Martin Luther King, Jr., Dinner at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 7. Help celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy.

Throughout February, you can also participate in panel discussions, community service projects, lectures, and other entertainment. For a full list, visit www.stjohns.edu/bhm.
