Charisse Willis is an Associate Dean in The School of Education at St. John’s University.  She has been with St. John's University for over 20 years.  In 1989, she received her B.S. degree in Athletic Administration/Sports Management from St. Vincent’s College.  In 1991, she obtained her M.S. in School Counseling and in 1995, she obtained her P. D. in School Counseling from St. John's University.  Dean Willis is permanently certified by New York State in School Counseling.

In 1993, Charisse began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at St. John's University.  She continues to teach courses concerning the many facets of education.  For many years, she has been the Director of several programs at the University; America Reads * America Serves, a federal work study  program that allows college students to go into the community to serve in a field that complements their major and/or tutor/mentor students from grades 1-12.  She is also the Campus Champion of Jumpstart, a head start program for high-risk pre-K children.
