experience here at St. John’s what it is. So this year, during the
first-ever I <3 Alumni: Philanthropy Week, take a moment to
refresh your memory on why their support has such a huge
impact:
- Out of all of our undergraduates last year, 97% received
financial aid
- A total of $198 million of University money went towards that
aid!
- Over 400 separate scholarships are offered to our students
- Funds from our alumni and friends help provide the cutting-edge
technology and resources in our libraries
- Spending a semester abroad is made possible in part to their
generosity
- Alumni and friends donate their time to network with students
through the Alumni Insider’s View…Programs
- Don’t forget our residence halls and named facilities: the
D’Angelo Center, Taffner Field House, Carey, DaSilva and Donovan
Residence Halls, Bent Hall, Belson/Finley Hall, Montgoris Dining
Hall and more
- At our Annual President’s Dinner, alumni and friends give
millions of dollars for student scholarships. Last year alone
raised $3 million!
- Almost 14,000 donors supported St. John’s last academic
year
- The PLUNGE program, created thanks to the support of our
donors, allows you to immerse yourself in service projects in
places like Panama, Guatemala and Lourdes, France
- Our donors provide countless internships to help students like
you get your careers started
