Last week, for Easter vacation, everyone went away and treated
it as our mini Spring Break. Discover the World students don’t get
an actual Spring Break because we need time to fit the classes into
our four-month period. Most of the students from my previous
rotations traveled to Ibiza, Spain for a small reunion with
everyone for the last time before we go home. I can honestly say it
was the most amazing time I have had on this entire trip. Just
meeting up with all my friends and relaxing on the beach and by the
pool was great for the simple fact that we all got to see each
other again. Ibiza itself was a very beautiful island and I am glad
that I decided to go there for vacation.
After Ibiza a few of us took a short trip to London for two
days. London was an interesting city and it was extremely easy to
figure out the metro system. But the only downfall to London was
that it was very expensive.
After London three of my friends and I took a ferry back to
Dublin. The ferry ride was very enjoyable, especially since the
ferry turned out to be an actual cruise ship. Although it was fun
that everyone was together on vacation, a lot of us were anxious to
get back home to Dublin and just rest.
I was glad to arrive back in Dublin, and it was probably the
only time that I was excited to be going back to the dorms after a
trip. Being in Dublin sort of feels like being home, and the campus
seems especially relaxing and comfortable. All of the other
students have come back from their vacation as well, so the campus
is now flowing with students. Everyone is extremely friendly
and goes out of their way to invite the Discover the World students
to campus events.
Our second class on Monday was amazing. For our Theology class
we switch off to different professors every week, each of whom
teaches a different aspect of the life of St. Vincent de
Paul. This week’s professor, who happened to be a priest, was
excellent and had the class laughing and involved throughout the
lesson.
My time spent abroad only gets better and better!
