Andrea M. Alonso earned her B.A. from St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1979 and her J.D. from St. John’s School of Law in 1981. She was admitted to the New York State bar in 1982 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York She has been associated with the firm of Morris Duffy Alonso & Faley since 1981, became a Named Partner in 1992 and is currently Managing Partner, specializing in appellate litigation. She has argued in the Appellate Terms and Appellate Divisions of the State of New York, the New York Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Her legal articles have been published in The New York Law Journal, The ABA Journal, The Defense Research Institute Journal, The Torts, Insurance and Compensation Journal of the New York State Bar Association, and Defendant. She is a frequent lecturer in insurance defense topics at insurance companies, bar associations, claims associations and law schools. She is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; Defense Research Institute; Puerto Rican Bar Association; Hispanic National Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. She is also a member of Defense Association of New York.
