More than 100 alumnae and friends of St. John’s University
gathered for the 47th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on November
4 at the North Hempstead Country Club in Port Washington, Long
Island. Always a highlight of the Fall social season, the event
featured an array of fashions from Lord & Taylor, strikingly
modeled by members of the St. John’s University Alumnae
Association.
Attendees were welcomed by Andrea Papa, Associate Director of
Alumni Relations, who brought the audience up-to-date on the many
exciting initiatives that have recently taken place at St. John’s.
First-year scholarship recipient Daniel Goldberg was also on hand
to express his appreciation for the generosity of the donors who
made his financial assistance possible.
The annual Fashion Show produces significant revenue to support
the Alumnae Scholarship, a partial grant which is awarded annually
to a deserving student nominated by a St. John’s University
alumna. Scholarship recipients are selected on the combined
basis of academic performance and financial need and, assuming that
they maintain strict academic standards, retain the grant for the
duration of their four year course of study.
