More than 120 students and faculty attended the annual Maureen
A. Hartigan Forum and COACH event held on March 5 in Bent Hall on
the Queens campus. The forum featured keynote speaker Diane Scricca
’73Ed, ’77GEd, ’80PD whose presentation titled “You’re Hired”
touched upon the importance of putting together an accurate and
coherent resume. She also spoke on the essentials of job
interviewing.
The Hartigan Forum is held every year for students and alumni of
The School of Education and offers students an opportunity to learn
valuable information to prepare for their future careers. As a
Count On Alumni for Career Help (COACH) program, the Hartigan Forum
enables students to network and interact with successful alumni in
the education field. A scholarship fund bears the same name as the
forum, and the recipient of this year’s Hartigan Scholarship is
Loren Bennett, an adolescent education major from the Class of
2007.
Those in attendance at the forum came away better prepared for
the Education Job Fair to be held from 2 - 6 p.m. on March 22 in
Council Hall on the Queens campus.
