Black Alumni Association

Our Mission
The St. John's University Black Alumni Association (STJBAA) is dedicated to the pursuit of social empowerment by responding to the professional and personal growth of the alumni community through the development of relationships with students, fellow alumni and the greater community. The STJBAA strives to promote the Vincentian mission and purposes in all its endeavors.

History
The St. John's University Black Alumni Association was founded in June 1989 by Phyllis C. Bell '75C, '79G.
Ms. Bell combed through old yearbooks to set in motion the creation of this Association.

Goals
The STJBAA is committed to providing formal and informal meeting opportunities for alumni to address educational, professional and social needs. Our association also seeks to develop a communication network for African-American alumni, students, St. John's faculty and staff to increase awareness of STJBAA issues.
