A Legacy of Learning
For as long as he can remember, John D. Birchby, Esq. ’73L wanted
to go to St. John’s University. The son of alumnus Kenneth L.
Birchby, Esq. ’49L,’88HON, John recognized early in life the
significance of strong family ties. He acknowledges that his father
served as a powerful role model, ultimately influencing him to
continue the Birchby legacy of entering the legal profession after
graduating from St. John’s School of Law.

2009 - 2010 Honor Roll of
Donors
Thank you for keeping our mission strong During the past
fiscal year the generosity of our alumni and friends has been
nothing short of spectacular. Even in the face of a turbulent
economy, 20,559 donors made charitable gifts of $22,199,172, an
increase of nearly $8 million over the previous fiscal year and the
third highest total amount in University history. An additional
$10,635,874 in new pledges was another reflection of our donors’
exceptional support for St. John’s students and programs.
