Mattone Atrium

St. Johns Alumni Winter 2011 MagazineSt. John’s School of Law recognized the generosity of Joseph M. (‘53C, ’55L, ’94HON) and Mary Ann Mattone by naming a well-appointed and newlyrefurbished room built to be the heart of its community as the Mattone Family Atrium.

Michael A. Simons, Dean, St. John’s School of Law, noted that by naming the atrium after the Mattone Family, it will stand “…as a testament to what love of family, hard work, living a moral life and helping our fellow man can do for communities small and large.”

Joseph and Mary Ann Mattone are among the University’s most generous and loyal supporters. They are members of The Founder’s Society, an exclusive donor recognition group reserved for those who have made gifts to St. John’s of $1 million or more during their lifetime. They are also both recipients of the Spirit of Service Award, established by St. John’s University to recognize those exceptional persons whose vision, accomplishments and good works have had a profound impact on their communities and our world.
