Red Storm Looks to Lavin for Return to Greatness
The new coach is as strongly committed to the person-to-person aspect of his role as he is to diagramming the Xs and Os. “Throughout my career there have been wonderful people who’ve helped me to get to certain stations in my life,” he said. “They set such a good example for me, and I’ve always wanted to be able to do that for others. For me, that’s one of the real joys of coaching.”

Although his time at St. John’s has been brief, Lavin has already crafted a solid plan to bring the Red Storm back to the days when it was one of the premier college basketball programs in the country. Read more >

 
   

University Honors Exceptional Alumni
The honorees were genuinely moved to be receiving an award from the University that has meant so much to them throughout their lives.

Selected to deliver the Convocation Address on behalf of his fellow award recipients, Coach Carnesecca reflected on his life at St. John’s and the influence that “…the good Vincentian fathers” had on him for so many years. “Their lessons were precious,” he recalled, “and we are forever indebted to them for what they did for all of us.” Read more >
