3 Smart Ways to Support St. John's University on a Budget

Sometimes it's difficult to be charitable when your budget is tight and the future is uncertain. After all, your family comes first. But many types of charitable gifts enable you to make a significant donation while saving taxes or receiving income in return.

Following are a few of the most popular, beneficial ways to support our mission.

  • A gift in your will or revocable living trust. Known as a bequest, this form of giving is accomplished simply by including a few sentences in your will or living trust. Contact Susan Damiani at 718-990-7562 or damianis@stjohns.edu for our official bequest language.
  • A gift that provides you with income for life. Through a life income gift, you provide us with assets. In return, we agree to provide you, and other individuals if you choose, with income for life. After your lifetimes, we use the remaining balance to carry out our mission. Punch the numbers on our online gift calculator to see your possible benefits.
  • A gift of your IRA or retirement plan assets. You can name St. John's University as the primary or contingent beneficiary on the plan's beneficiary designation form.
