Celebrating the Career of Professor Janice D.
Please join us to celebrate Professor Janice D. Villiers, who had a
distinguished career at St. John's as a law school and University
administrator and as a law professor (doctrinal and clinical)
specializing in the areas of Contracts I, Torts I and II,
Immigration Law, Immigration Seminar, Interviewing and Counseling,
and the Bread and Life Immigration Clinic. Janice was also a
founding member of the Advisory Board of The Ronald H. Brown Center
for Civil Rights and Economic Development, served as faculty
advisor to the Black Law Student Association, and served on the Law
School's Admissions and Diversity Committees. Through Janice's
efforts and those of the other early founders — including Hon.
Patricia P. Satterfield '77, '05HON and the late Hon. Philip D.
Roache '54 — The RHB Center thrives with a range of programs and
pipeline initiatives that carry forward its founding mission of
engaging issues that affect the lives of underrepresented people,
while simultaneously educating law students to be leaders on issues
of racial, economic, and social justice.
