Together We Had a Dream

Over six years ago St. John’s University embarked on the most ambitious and comprehensive fundraising effort in its history. The Campaign for St. John’s – Fulfilling the Dream was a commitment to provide our students with the best possible environment in which to prepare for their future.

St. John’s is pleased to announce that the Campaign has exceeded its quarter of a billion dollar goal with a final total of $271 million. We are profoundly grateful to the countless alumni, friends and corporate partners who made this significant accomplishment possible.

Their generosity has facilitated a host of bold academic initiatives, world-class educational resources and critical infrastructure upgrades. These include:

• Over 80 new endowed scholarships and chairs
   
• The largest private university laptop initiative and a wireless computer network across all campuses
   
• Construction of St. Thomas More Church, the DaSilva Academic Center, the Community Pharmacy Laboratory, Institute for Writing Studies, Montgoris Dining Hall and a Residence Village
   
• New athletic facilities including Taffner Field House, Belson Stadium and Press Box and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center

As a result of over 25,000 applications in the fall of 2006, we will welcome the strongest incoming academic class in our 136 years.

As we celebrate the successful completion of this historic campaign, we look forward to the difference it will make in the lives of our students today, who will in turn go forth to make a difference in our world tomorrow.
