The Board of Trustees of St. John’s University has announced
today a nationwide search to recruit a new President. The
University has retained the services of R. William Funk &
Associates (Dallas, TX) to help conduct the search.
presidential hire will succeed Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M. who
has been serving as the Interim President of the University since
August 1. Rev. Levesque previously retired as President of
Niagara University where he served for 13 years.

Chair of the St. John’s Board of Trustees, and President of Caxton
Alternative Management, LP, and the , C.M., Vice Chair of the St. John’s Board of
Trustees and Provincial Superior of the Eastern Province of the
Congregation of the Mission, will co-chair a 13-member Presidential
Search Committee representing a cross-section of the university’s
various constituencies, including board members, faculty
members, alumni, students and administrators. The process to
establish a selection committee began this past summer.

to lead our university in today’s dynamic higher education
landscape, while continuing the Catholic and Vincentian heritage
that has guided this institution for more than 140 years,” said Mr.
