Paul C. Wirth graduated from St. John’s The Peter J. Tobin
College of Business in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in
Accounting. He currently serves as Deputy Chief Financial Officer
for Morgan Stanley. In this role, Wirth is responsible for External
Reporting, Accounting Policy, Regulatory Relations and Reporting,
Business Unit Chief Financial Officers, Corporate Controllers,
Valuation Review, Tax Processing and the Control and Operational
Risk Framework for Finance. He is a member of the Firm’s Management
Committee, Risk Committee, Asset and Liability Management
Committee, FHC Governance Committee, Operational Risk Oversight
Committee, Strategic Transactions Committee and MicroFinance
Advisory Board.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in his current role in March
2005, Wirth served in a variety of roles at a number of respected
firms, including Credit Suisse First Boston, Deloitte & Touche
and KPMG. Additionally, he is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of
Certified Public Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants and Financial Executives International. He is an NASD -
Series 27, Financial and Operations Principal and serves on the
Board of Trustees of the ARC of Essex County. From 2004 through
2009, he served on the Board of Trustees of the Financial
Accounting Foundation (oversight body for the FASB) and in June
2007, Treasury & Risk Management magazine named Wirth one of
the “100 Most Influential People in Finance.”
Wirth remains connected to St. John’s and serves as a member of
the Board of Advisors for The Tobin College of Business.
