Nancy Schleyer

Nancy Schleyer, a double alumna of St. John’s University, received her B.S. in Elementary and Special Education in 1980 and her M.S. in Early Childhood Education in 2006, both from the School of Education.  After a 27-year career teaching first grade in  the Dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre, she moved to her current post as a Kindergarten Special Education Teacher at PS 19 in Queens. Dedicated to the University’s Vincentian mission, she participates in Midnight Runs for the homeless and in the St. Vincent DePaul Society of her home parish, serves as a Eucharistic minister and works with the elderly. She supports alma mater through membership in The Loughlin Society.  In recognition of her service and on the 30th anniversary of the awarding of her undergraduate degree, St. John’s University is pleased to present the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award to Nancy Schleyer.
