Presentation of the
Pietas Medal
to
Richard Fielitz
Richard Fielitz received his B.S. from St. John’s College of
Pharmacy in 1950. He began his professional career in 1951 as
a Pharmaceutical Engineer for Merck and Company. Five years later
he moved to a similar position in the International Division of
Smith, Kline and French, where he would remain for the
next 27 years, serving at various times as Vice President of
Operations in Canada and President of Operations in Puerto Rico and
Mexico. He also served as Director at Franklin Laboratories in the
Bahamas. A loyal supporter of alma mater, he is a member
of The Loughlin Society and The McCallen Society. In celebration of
his lifetime of outstanding accomplishments in the field of
international pharmacy and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary
of his graduation, St. John’s University is pleased to present the
Pietas Medal to Richard Fielitz.
