Mary Jane Helenek '82P, '84GP, '87MBA received the Alumni
Outstanding Achievement Award of St. John’s University at the 28th
Annual Alumni Convocation on Friday, May 29, 2009.
A triple alumna of St. John’s University, she received her B.S.
in Pharmacy from St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 1982, her M.S. in Pharmacy Administration in 1984
and her MBA from the College of Business Administration in
1987.
Mary Jane Helenek began her professional career as a pharmacist
at North Shore University Hospital in Syosset in 1984, and moved on
to Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Manager of Marketing in
1987. She quickly advanced into a number of senior management
positions at Luitpold, including Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, Senior Vice President and, finally, President and CEO,
her current position.
“There are so many changes at St. John’s,” she said. “I
can’t believe how many buildings are here. And the computers
that the students have are great.”
The Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award is an honor reserved
for alumni who have either distinguished themselves in their
personal careers and professions or have made a significant
contribution to the life of the University.
