It is vital to keep St. John’s financially supported in the
future. That’s what makes the Office of Gift Planning so important.
With a planned gift, donors can help us secure our commitment to
academic excellence for future generations of students and keep the
St. John’s tradition strong years down the line. That money can one
day be used to support facilities, aid students with scholarships,
advance the University’s technological initiatives and so much
more.
In addition to encouraging and receiving planned gifts from alumni
and friends, the Office of Gift Planning also educates alumni on
matters of estate and financial planning, providing free workshops
and publications to keep them informed. The Gift
Planning Web site is constantly updated with the most recent
information on estate planning. The staff also oversees The
McCallen Society, named in honor of former University treasurer
Rev. Thomas J. McCallen, C.M. The group consists of alumni and
friends who have included St. John’s in their estate plans or
funded Charitable Gift Annuities or Charitable Remainder Trusts
that benefit St. John’s.
