Institute for Social Action
Please note that this Department Showcase
will take place in the Law School Room 1-13 on the Queens
Campus.
Vincentian Institute for Social Action was created to provide
faculty and students with a platform to address issues of poverty
and social injustice. The Institute through an
interdisciplinary approach focuses on the themes of homelessness,
hunger, education, and healthcare and offers various levels of
engagement ranging from task-oriented activity to sustainable
community-based research.
At the showcase you will learn about the programs within VISA;
Academic Service-Learning, the Ozanam Scholars Program, the
Advantage Academy, the Faculty Research Consortium and the many
service and research projects available to students and faculty at
St. John’s.
