Do Your Students Know What You Really Value?
Phyllis Conn,
Institute for Core Studies
Joseph Serafin, St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Join us for this workshop to explore what faculty are actually looking for in their assessments of students' written work. Bring one or two brief samples of student writing (one or two page assignments) to share. Please remove or black out students' names. Samples of student work will be provided for those unable to bring something.  Participants will share their reactions and responses to the strengths and problems we see in these samples and discuss how our responses reflect what we really value in student learning. Methods to make these values more transparent to the students will also be discussed.

Lunch will be served.
