A Panel of Interdisciplinary Faculty will:
- Highlight the issue of poverty in America within the context of
the 2012 Presidential election
- Examine specific proposals in the Republican and Democratic
Platform to identify how these proposals can be predicted to
alleviate or exacerbate poverty
- Explore the relationship of the middle class and persons who
are poor in the political sphere
- Encourage voter participation in the 2012 Presidential
election
