Union County College

In order to help the transfer student with the process, St. John’s University has prepared this Transfer Guide for the Union County College.

Students who have been awarded the A.A (Associates in Arts) or A.S (Associates in Science) from Union County College will be deemed to have met the academic standards for admission with junior status to St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Science, the College of Professional Studies or the School of Education. If admitted the A.A or A.S holder may transfer up to 66 credits, exclusive of developmental or remedial work towards a B.A or B.S degree in these Colleges. Transfer applicants to a B.A or B.S degree in the Peter J Tobin College of Business of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences must have their academic record evaluated by the Dean’s designee to determine acceptance and the courses for which credit will be awarded towards a degree program in these academic units.

The transfer student, who has excelled in the classroom, may qualify for one of our generous scholarship programs.  Students with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better are eligible for transfer scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 per year based on our evaluation of the FAFSA form. Special consideration will be provided to Union County College Phi Theta Kappa members and Honors Program participants. Phi Theta Kappa members will receive an additional $2,000 toward their first year tuition. All pending graduates of Union County College, who apply to transfer to St. John’s, will have the application fee waived.  Finally, St. John’s University will provide a laptop computer for each registered, incoming transfer student.
