The forms of aid include loans, grants, scholarships, graduate assistantships, and doctoral fellowships.  To qualify for Federal aid, students are required to be a citizen or a permanent resident of the US, with a social security number and to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid [FAFSA].  New York State provides a small grant [TAP] to full time graduate students who are considered New York State residents.  For information about scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships, inquire at the graduate division office of your college or school at the time of your application for admission.
