Application Checklist

Make sure you have everything ready and on time with our Application Checklist for St. John’s University.

APPLICATION:

  • Complete and submit the online application or print out a paper application, complete it and follow the instructions to submit it.

NOTE: We waive the application fee for undergraduate applicants who apply using our online application.

  • Certain programs may have additional application requirements. Please check to see if your program has additional application needs.
  • Essay and recommendation letters are not mandatory, but they are recommended for most undergrads. This is a requirement for the Pharmacy program.

TRANSCRIPTS:

  • For Freshmen Students:
    • Official secondary school results in original language with official English translation
    • Official examination results – if taken – from the examining board (i.e., Baccalaureate; General Certificate of Education; Caribbean Examinations Council; West African Examinations Council).
    • Statement of activity only if you have a gap in your education of more than 3 months from your school graduation date to application.
  • For Transfer Students:
    • Official college transcripts with English translation
    • Official course-by-course evaluation from www.wes.org or www.naces.org.
    • Statement of activity only if you have a gap in your education of more than 3 months from your school graduation date to application.
    • Foreign credential evaluation
  • For Graduate Students:
    • Official university and post-secondary transcripts, plus degree conferrals/diplomas

TEST SCORES:

  • For Freshmen Students:
  • TOEFL or IELTS exam to demonstrate English language proficiency. If you come from an English speaking country you are exempt from these tests, please provide SAT instead.
  • SAT is optional, when TOEFL or IELTS are provided. SAT is required when applying for the Pharmacy program, Actuarial Science program, would like to be considered for academic scholarship or applicants that come from an English Speaking country. 
  • For Transfer Students:
    • TOEFL or IELTS exam to demonstrate English language proficiency.
  • For Graduate Students:
    • TOEFL or IELTS exam to demonstrate English language proficiency
