Marketing Intern
Week Three
Hey everyone, my name is Adam. I am a Junior at St John's
University majoring in finance, with minors in computer science and
international studies. I am currently a marketing intern at
StyleOwner, a start up online fashion company. I have been
interning here at StyleOwner since January. I have interned
previously at other companies, but this internship is certainly
unique. One may shoot to intern at a large well known company while
not realizing the benefits of interning at a smaller start up
company.
My internship at StyleOwner has so far provided me with a hands-on
experience that is very difficult to find at other internships. My
partner Alessio and I are currently working on marketing a "Video
Competition" to fashion schools in New York and California. The
goal of this competition is to not only invoke students to be
"entrepreneurially" active, but to get the StyleOwner name out
there. What's great about this internship is that I am actually
trying to do something that will benefit the company. Instead of
making photo copies and filing papers I am creating Facebook pages
and contacting faculty of fashion schools. There's nothing better
than having an internship where you know the work you are doing may
actually have an impact on the success of the company!
