Military Science
Department Overview
Although it is positioned as the department to motivate and develop the leadership and managerial potential of students and to prepare them to serve as commissioned officers in the active Army, National Guard or Army Reserve, the Military Science courses are open to all St. John's students. Students pursuing a commission through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) must also register for MSC LL (Leadership Laboratory) every semester they take a Military Science course. Students with prior military service may be eligible for immediate participation in the advanced ROTC courses without taking the basic courses.
ROTC offers a variety of two, three and four year scholarship programs to qualified students.
