Many of the most successful accounting professionals at such
well-known firms as Deloitte & Touche, PricewaterhouseCoopers
and Ernst & Young are St. John’s graduates. You can start on
your path to joining them by enrolling in the widely respected
Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Accounting at St. John's.
According to the U.S. Department
of Labor, graduates with accounting degrees have the best
opportunity for jobs in today’s competitive marketplace. Through
St. John’s 126-credit program, you’ll gain the academic credentials
and practical experience necessary for success in this expanding
field.
The Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Accounting is
offered by The Peter J. Tobin College of
Business at St. John's. The Tobin College is fully accredited
by AACSB International — the
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Fewer than
20 percent of collegiate business schools in the U.S. and
Canada have attained this accreditation. Accounting students
at St. John's gain expertise in the principles and
applications of accounting, readying them for exciting careers
in public and private practice.
In addition to the B.S. in Accounting, the Department also
allows students to enhance their degree by choosing one of the
following dual degree options:
Accounting and Finance
Students explore how the principles of finance apply to corporate
financial management by analyzing a company’s financial health, its
effect on the valuation and selection of securities and on the
return on its investments. You will also study the influence of the
financial services system on economic activity.
Accounting and Management Information
Systems
Students gain an in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of
designing, developing and managing computer-enhanced information
systems in businesses and other organizations.
