Human Services

All human services majors gain confidence and realworld experience through internships. Students are expected to complete 18 credits, or about 450 hours, in one to three field-reputable agencies that are chosen by the student or the College. Students work closely with the Program Director to ensure that placements are appropriate.

Careers in Human Services
Graduates of the program enjoy great flexibility in employment opportunities, which include the following positions:

  • Social service aide
  • Social work assistant
  • Law enforcement: probation officer, parole officer, police officer
  • Government agencies and programs
  • Substance abuse counselor
  • Educational counselor
  • Health care caseworker
  • Child welfare caseworker: child advocate, child protection services provider
  • Activity aide, life skills instructor, residential  counselor
