Journalism

In emphasizing hand-on experience, St. John’s journalism major offers an extensive internship program. Student interns receive academic credit for their work at professional newspapers, magazines, public relations firms, advertising agencies, wire services, television or radio stations, broadcast networks or Internet news sites.

The internships include major media throughout the communications industry of New York City, including some of the nation’s most prestigious newspapers, the Associated Press, broadcasters and others. All qualified students are placed in internships. The internship program adds professional experience to classroom instruction, and it is an important, integral part of the journalism major.
