Eddie Motl

Publicist, FOX Sports Networks Media Relations

Eddie Motl currently serves as Publicist for the FOX Sports Media Relations department, a role he took on in March 2007 when he was promoted from Media Relations Assistant. In his current position, Motl develops and executes publicity plans for FOX Sports properties (BCS, MLB, NASCAR & NFL), broadcasters and jewel events through print, radio, Internet & television. Major events he has worked closely to promote include FOX’s broadcasts of the World Series (’04-’07), BCS Championship games (’07, ’08), NASCAR’s Daytona 500 (’05, ’07, ’08) and Super Bowls XXXIX & XLII.    

Motl joined FOX Sports in May 2004 as an assistant to Senior Vice President, FOX Sports Networks Lou D’Ermilio.  As an assistant, Motl assumed all of the department's administrative tasks including the dissemination of a daily industry news packet, weekly game regionalization, travel arrangements, processing invoices, and coordinating special research projects.  He also administered the annual production seminars for FOX Sports' NFL, MLB and NASCAR coverage. 

Prior to obtaining his position, Motl served as a Marketing Services Game Day Intern for the New York Jets from August 2001 to January 2004.  In this capacity, he contributed to the setup and breakdown of an interactive NFL experience called Jets Fest, assisted in various promotional events at halftime and represented the organization during games in luxury suites. 

As an intern with the Buick Classic from May 2003 to September 2003, Motl gained first-hand experience in the sales and operations efforts at a major PGA TOUR event.  In this internship, he worked closely with the Sales Manager to deliver clients the utmost in customer service in addition to serving as the point person for a variety of vendors.

As an undergraduate, Motl worked for St. John’s in the Athletic Facilities Department from November 2003 to May 2004.  In 2001, he served as a Media Relations intern for the New York Yankees during their emotional post-9/11 World Series run against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Motl graduated from St. John’s University in 2004 with a degree in Sports Management and minor in Business.
