The Legal Studies Division of the College of Professional Studies
hosted the Empire State Alliance of Paralegal Associations’
executive board meeting on January 20, 2007. Paralegals from
around the state gathered at the Manhattan campus to discuss trends
in the paralegal profession. The Association adopted
educational guidelines for paralegals and discussed paralegal
regulation proposals.
Dean’s Office
On Thursday, November 16, 2006, the College of Professional Studies
Senior Students Center hosted a Resume Review Day sponsored by the
Career Center. Karen Casignal, Career Counselor, reviewed
resumes of our students. 13 students signed in to meet
one-on-one with the Career Counselor. The event was held
during common hour and was very successful. Students
received guidance toward creating their resumes for internships and
jobs. Many are scheduling follow-up sessions with the Career
Center. Next semester we are considering hosting it for a
longer time block and to possibly have two days during the semester
to accommodate the needs of our students.
