Informal “Rome is More Than Pizza” Event to be Held on
April 3 at Queens Campus
St. John’s University will host an informational event titled
“Rome is More Than Pizza” on April 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Bent Hall at
the school’s Queens Campus. The event, co-sponsored by the Graduate
Admissions Office and the Office of Global Studies, will highlight
St. John’s graduate offerings and global initiatives at their Rome
Campus in Italy.
St. John’s is the only American university that offers fully
accredited Master’s degree programs in the Eternal City. Students
may pursue an M.B.A. degree in Finance, International Business or
Marketing Management or an M.A. in Government and Politics with a
specialization in International Relations.
Founded in 1870 by the Vincentian Community, St. John’s
University is one of the nation’s leading Catholic universities in
the U.S. recognized for internationally respected faculty and
superb academic programs. Add to that a new premier location that
expands to a 75,000 square foot, four-story Rome Campus (which is a
stone’s throw away from the Vatican) which will house 13 classrooms
and 200 beds as well as administrative offices for university
“With the addition of this new space, St. John’s will now have a
significant presence in Rome,” said James P. Pellow, Ed.D,
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We’ll be
able to offer many more study abroad and service opportunities for
our students that will add significantly to their academic resumes
and clearly distinguish them from the vast majority of
undergraduates who have never studied abroad.”
The Rome Campus offers flexible program options for full and
part time study, as students can complete all or part of their
degree program while in the Eternal City. Also, the unique setting
offers a high degree of interaction between students and faculty in
a close-knit community of scholars.
A recent recruiting effort by St. John’s has led to
unprecedented success as the university received a record 39,000
freshman applications for the fall 2008 semester.
