About the speakers: Ms. Luthfia Syarbaini and Mr. Zachary
Nishino are seniors in the Physics Department at St. John’s
University.
Ms. Luthfia Syarbaini won a REU (research experience for
undergraduates) award from Princeton University in 2008 where she
did research on zinc oxide nanowires. She won another REU award
from Massachusetts Institute of Technology this summer. She will
share her REU experience with us in this presentation.
Mr. Zachary Nishino won a REU award from the University of New
Mexico in 2007 through the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure
Network Program where he did research on carbon nanotubes and fiber
optic lasers. He won another REU award from the University of
Florida this summer. He will talk about his research experience in
this presentation.
Come join us! Food and drinks will be served.
