6 additional credits in computer science, 3 of these must be selected from CUS 1144 or higher numbered courses.

Specialized Area Requirements
18 semester hours of courses in computer security systems (CSS)

  • Introduction to Information Security
  • Cyber Threats and Detection
  • Network Security
  • Network Perimeter Security

6 credits selected from the following:

  • Cyberlaw and Ethics
  • Computer Forensics

Free Electives
9 credits selected from the courses offered through any of the undergraduate units of St. John's University.   

Students completing this program will have a minor in computer security systems well as a major in information technology.

A second language (6 credits) may be substituted for these courses.
