ABOUT US
Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society, is active in
more than 76 pharmacy schools across the nation. Its mission
is simple: fostering leadership and service in an ever-changing
pharmacy profession. As members of PLS, you will have the
opportunity to network with an extraordinary group of individuals
who have become leaders in the profession of pharmacy, in their
communities, and around the world. Phi Lambda Sigma is a
distinct privilege that only a few students receive, and its
membership is based on peer recognition. There is no greater honor
that one can receive other than being recognized as a leader by
peers.
MEMBERSHIP
Students interested should apply after their third year in the
pharmacy program.
Each member is tapped for membership in Phi Lambda Sigma because
of the outstanding qualities of leadership and service that they
have demonstrated in the profession of pharmacy. The symbol of the
society is the key that members receive. It bears a mortar
and pestle, long recognized as the symbol of the ethical
pharmacist. The mortar and pestle, which bears the letters of
Phi Lambda Sigma, is surrounded by a wreath of laurel, symbolic of
leadership and wisdom. The date of our founding, 1975,
appears below the mortar and pestle. Our colors are green and
gold; green, symbolizing strength, and gold, symbolizing fineness
of character.

EVENTS
Healthy Halloween is an annual event that invites elementary
school children to campus where our organization can teach them
about healthy eating and safety during the Halloween season.
We collaborate with various organizations on campus, each of which
sets-up a station with various crafts and lessons for the children
to enjoy. Phi Lambda Sigma looks forward to working with the
other organizations and to giving back to the community every
year.
