Assistant degree
Admission to the four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Physician
Assistant is based on admission into the College of Pharmacy
and Health Sciences. Applicants to this major must have completed
one year of high school chemistry. For more information about

Students Applying to the
Physician Assistant Certificate Program
Students who possess a bachelor's degree may apply to the two-year
certificate portion of the program. Applications for the
Certificate Program must be submitted online through the Central Application Service
for Physician Assistants (CASPA). All Certificate students must
possess a baccalaureate degree. Applications must be received by
November 1.
Candidates also are encouraged to have a strong science background
with completed coursework in pathology, biochemistry, pharmacology,
ethics and biostatistics. Minimum requirements for all applicants
include 16 credits in the basic sciences taken within five years of
entry into this program. Courses include:
• Microbiology with lab - one
semester
• Anatomy and Physiology with
lab-two semesters
• Chemistry with lab- one
semester
Applicants who did not complete high school in the United States
must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Scores
required for passing are listed as follows:
• 600 Paper-based
• 250
Computer-based
• 100 Internet-based
