Research Interests

Dr. Skirvin has been involved in research projects surrounding supportive care of the cancer patient.  He has completed research in the areas of pain management, mucositis management, neutropenic fever and colony stimulating factors, and anemia in cancer patients to list a few. 

Dr. Skirvin is also interested in the area of the elderly who have cancer and how to approach their care.  Dr. Skirvin is also interested in the research of education and the skills and long term application of knowledge students learn in both traditional didactic coursework as well as experiential coursework.
