Dr. Nowosad, an associate professor at St. John's University, and Director of Online Learning Programs, has special interest in all aspects of leadership and social justice. She teaches courses dealing with administrative/organizational theory, educational administration, supervision, community relations, change theory, politics in education and mentors doctoral dissertation students.
An expert on compensatory education on federal, state, and local levels, Dr. Nowosad brings over 25 years of experience in this field. She has been an evaluator of Title I programs, a New York State Director of School Improvement, Grant Management and Compliance, and the New York City Executive Director for Funded and External Programs. Her work has taken her to urban settings as well as to small towns and rural areas.
Dr. Nowosad has a rich and diverse background as a teacher, school administrator, program and staff developer, evaluator, conference convener, keynote speaker, and consultant.
For the past several years, Dr. Nowosad has been working with schools and districts in designing and implementing comprehensive education plans at building and district levels. She also facilitates the development of district-wide curriculum, conducts curriculum mapping/auditing/charting with schools and creates links for existing or newly developed curriculum in a variety of content areas.
