Faculty Convocation Recognizes Beloved
St. John’s Professor
Recognizing his extraordinary commitment to the University’s
Vincentian mission, one of St. John’s most admired professors
received special recognition at the annual Faculty Convocation this
semester.
John Greg '62C, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Rhetoric,
Communication and Theater, received the President's Medal at
the annual
Faculty Convocation, held August 28 in Carnesecca Arena at the
Queens, NY, campus.
A St. John's alumnus who has spent much of his academic career
here, Dr. Greg is respected throughout the University community as
someone who has embraced our Vincentian
mission, modeling it for students and colleagues.
Dr. Greg's commitment to service has extended far beyond the
walls of St. John's — for several years he taught inmates at Arthur
Kill Correctional Facility who were working toward their college
degrees, taught homiletics to international priests through the
University's Acculturation Program and served on the Board of St. John's Bread and
Life.
