Students minoring in American Studies can capitalize on the
career-building potential of this course of study by taking an
internship in a wide range of fields, from government, education,
legal services and foundations to cultural institutions and media.
These fields are well known for offering internships to liberal
arts students. American Studies minors can even complete their
degree by taking an internship!
The American Studies Associations provides a helpful resource, “Internships
of Interest to Students of American Studies” that guides
students through the internship selection process and even provides
a list of institutions that students can contact on their
own.
American Studies minors can also contact the Career Center for a list of internships
and guidance in selecting the right opportunity for them.
