St. John’s University School of Education Hosts Second Annual Reflective Practice Institute

Staten Island, NY - In an ongoing, collaborative partnership to enhance educators’ abilities to teach the children of New York, St. John’s University School of Education and Wagner College will host the Second Annual Reflective Practices Institute entitled “Teaching Smart Through Reflective Practice: Creating Spaces for Urban School Success” on Thursday, November 11, 2004, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Kelleher Center at St. John’s University Staten Island campus, located at 300 Howard Avenue, Staten Island, NY.

“This morning long session will provide teachers and administrators with a vital resource for significant and sustainable school enhancement,” said Steven S. Kuntz, Ph.D., of St. John’s University. “In recent years, reflective practice has begun to transform teacher-development and school-improvement thinking and practice. Now more than ever, educators need the opportunity to reflect on effective instruction so as to create schools where students and the adults who teach them can reach their full potential.”
